While Data has been a constant theme through the last twenty five years in my engineering and finance roles, I have returned to study a Master of Data Science and Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney. My aim is to understand more about data science, innovation and the ethical use of data. Since discovering the field of Learning Analytics while reflecting as part of my study, I have continued to build my understanding, particularly in schools, of how data can be used to support teaching and learning as opposed to being seen as a burden. I’m also exploring the application of data science tools to process analytics to build on my process improvement background.
